Play and Meet for enrolled youth
All enrolled youth are invited to come play, hang out, set up the space, and meet the prospective facilitators that have applied for the staff position. Each candidate will come for an hour during this time. Ballots will be sent to the youth that attended on August 17th, and will be due by the 19th.
This will also be a great day to drop off any donations to the school building. We are open and looking for couches, comfy chairs, and other furniture for the basement rooms. Just let us know what time to expect you.
Open House Half Day
Meraki opens its doors for the last 2 hours of the day for prospective community members to check us out. Registration required.
Brooklyn's Block Party
Party at Brooklyn’s house. Our founder and facilitator, Brooklyn is participating in the “Party, On Portland!” a citywide, community-led placemaking initiative taking place all over the city August 1-14th. DJ’s, Potluck, Street Basketball, video games , all on the block outside Brooklyn’s house. This is a public event, everyone is welcome. OPEN HOUSE
All families interested in enrolling, or already enrolled, are invited to join us. This time we will be doing a short presentation and Q&A at 5:30.
Meraki Backyard Movie night for teens
Teen enrolled or interested in our programs are invited to join us in a beautiful community backyard for a pizza, popcorn and movie. We will have a selection of movies and vote on which one to watch that night. This is free event, registration is all that is needed, we will send the address out the day before. Register here.

Open House
This is our first open house where you can come and explore the space, meet other families, and ask us questions.
Location: Miller Hall, 11111 NE Knott St, Portland, OR 97220
We will have light snacks and refreshments. RSVP here if you’re able, for us to get a rough count. If you can’t RSVP that is totally fine, just show up if you’re able!
Our last big event on May Day was such a joy-filled day of connection and play. We hope you can join us for this open house.
Teen Meet and Q&A
Have a teen interested in our program that wants to learn more? Join us for a Meet and Q&A. We will be at Lloyd Center near the ice rink ready to answer questions about the school and chat. We will have Meraki flyers with us, and they should be easy to spot!
FUNdraising Open Team Meeting
We realize that we can never be a truly be a liberatory space while we are reliant on a tuition model. Our Fundraising team is open to all community members, families enrolled in the school and friends of families. . The team will focused on creating fun events and exploring ideas to diversify our income and lessen the tuition burden on our families. This is will be a virtual meeting. Zoom link will be sent out with our newsletter.
Play and Meet Us
Come join us for a afternoon of play and connection. This is event is open to all families supportive or interested in our program. We will be available to answer questions about the program and give kids a chance to meet eachother and explore the park.
May Day Community Gathering
This is a casual gathering for anyone interested and supportive of our project, not just prospective families.
Location: Knott Park, Portland OR. We will be by the play structure. Entrance and parking is on 117th Avenue.
